On April 14, 2011, Project "OP-AC-options of the Action for shrinking cities” lead consultant Hans-Uve Schwedler visit in Rezekne city. Within the visit there were meetings, discussions and workshops with representatives of the city administration, entrepreneurs and public organizations.

Developed Municipal Energy Planning Guide
In MODELproject, realized within framework of Intelligent Energy Europe program, is developed “Municipal Energy Planning Guide”. Methodological material describes development and realization of all planning processes including concrete activities for preparation the Municipality Energy Plan.
Guide was hand over to The Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments and information with possibility to download document was sent to all Latvian municipalities.

9 – 10 of October, 2008 third Mobilise Energy Awareness
(MOBENAW) project partners meeting took place in Riga.
Following representatives took part in the meeting: Alexander Gamaleyev and Aleksejs Milovskis (Social Economy Foundation), Vincent Carragher (Tipperary Energy Agency, Ireland), Sonia Gonzalez (Fundacion Asturiana de la Energia, Spain), Aldis Greķis (Riga Technical University) and as invited participant – Ilze Vanaga (Riga International College of Economics and Business Administration). Unfortunately two partner representatives – Brian McNamee (Consulteco, Great Britain) and Damian Bornas (Agencia de Gestion de Energia de la Region de Murcia, Spain) could not take part in the meeting. Nevertheless other participants actively communicated with them and their physical absence did not affected considerably to the effectiveness of the meeting.
Project partners discussed implementation of main Work Packages and their plans for future period.
EU Energy Commissioner Piebalgs awards MODEL project!
On 29th January 2008, MODEL, on September, 2007 started project on the energy management of local authorities, has been recognized by the European Commission as the most promising initiative among the 243 very varied projects assessed for the second edition of the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards competition.
This special prize has been handed over by the EU Energy Commissioner, Mr. Andris Piebalgs, to the MODEL partners.
Project MODEL ( Management Of Domains related to Energy in Local Authorities )
From September, 2007 Social Economic Found in collaboration with partners from 9 European counties has been launched a project about energy management in local authorities – MOEL. MODEL aims at helping 41 pilot local authorities to become models for both citizens and other municipalities in terms of sustainable energy use and management. As a Latvian pilot cities in project are participating – Jekabpils, Tukums, Valmiera and Vilani.
Within the framework of the project in these cities will be established Energy Management Units, developed Sustainable Energy Programs and will be organized different energy efficiency conducive measures, int. al. Intelligent Energy Days.

In year 2004, Social Economy Fund as one of the partners took part in the elaboration of the project “Open Labor Market for Women”, which was approved by EQUAL program.
Implementation of the project “Open Labor Market for Women” has been started at 1 February, 2005 and will last for three years.

In May 2005 an article "Practice Firms in Latvia: "New Takeoff" Point" was published in EUROPEN Buletin No.29.
On 21 May, 2005 the final arrangement of the Project "Promotion of mutual understanding - road to integration of society" (Pagalms) was organized in Daugavpils.
At 11.00 am authors of essays and other interested persons were invited to take part in communication training "Interculture communication in Latvia and Europe". Training was delivered by Vija Mika (Latvia) and Dagmar Kommer (Austria).
At 1:30 pm documentary video "...How much we know about each other?...” was presented in the Education Department of Daugavpils City Council. In shooting of the video participated authors of the best essays, representative from Daugavpils local history museum Valentīna Slavkovska, head of Education Department of Daugavpils City Council Jānis Dukšinskis and other persons involved in the project implementation. Video presented history and today of multinational city Daugavpils and perception of pupil about this.
At 3.00 pm authors of essay competition "...How much we know about each other?..." were awarded. Awarding was organized on the Vieniba square of Daugavpils during closure of bigger event - "Week of youth - ourselves for our city". All authors of essays received book "...How much we know about each other?...", T-shirts with project's logo and boxes of cakes from company "Antaris".
After award ceremony the book "...How much we know about each other?..." was presented to all participants of the closure meeting of "Week of youth - ourselves for our city".
